Hello,

My name is Andrea Greene (pronounced On-Dray-uh) and I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I graduated from Michigan State University with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and moved to Chicago a year later where I began working in maternal-child health at a health center on the west side.  Our mission was to provide better outcomes for pregnant women and their babies by providing supportive services through various resources and education. I worked closely with OB doctors and midwives, co-facilitating Centering Pregnancy groups, which is group prenatal care, and serving as additional support to pregnant women.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job was visiting expectant mothers in their homes to assess their needs on a more personal level. This launched my passion to help mommies past my 9-5.

I graduated from Loyola University Chicago with my Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. I focused my graduate school research on the pregnancy outcome disparity between Black and White Americans which both angered me and burdened me to the point that I knew I had to do something about it.

I now reside in Southern California with my husband and an amazing baby boy who was brought into this world via water birth. I’m excited to share my birth story and look forward to sharing what I learned in my research and experience. It’s time for us to take our control back and own our pregnancies and birthing experiences!
